Team Dinner Members
of the Smash got together for dinner on December 18th, to wrap up the
year.

Winning Big in Hawaii Team
member, Don Bearden, returned home this week after winning the ITF
Hawaii Pacific Open Wheelchair Championships. Don won both singles and
doubles titles.

Smash Rocks at Practice On
Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at 8:04pm, something unique happened during
practice ... a 5.6 earthquake blew through the South Bay. No major
damage was reported in the surrounding communities. Those of us on
the courts stopped to watch the chain link fence around the courts
rattle, the warehouse behind the courts shake and court light posts
sway back and forth before we resumed playing. :-)

TIES that BIND Event in Roseville This
weekend (10/13-10/14) is the TIES that BIND Event in Roseville.
Activities include wheelchair basketball and tennis clinics on
Saturday and an Up/Down tennis tournament on Sunday. Please note
that the event has recently moved locations.

Wheelchair Tennis U.S Open The
U.S. Open in San Diego concludes the 2007 tournament season. Dylan
Young represented the team.

Tennis at Tahoe/Donner Another
great time at the Tahoe/Donner Wheelchair Championships. This years
event drew a large Open draw with players from around the

Golden State Challenge Completed
The team thanks everyone involved in this years Golden
State Challenge for another enjoyable weekend of tennis ... from
players, tournament director Bill Jacobson, referee Mark Epstein,
Stanford University, City of San Jose, and to all the

final day of the 2007 Comerica Challenger at the Seascape Sports

temperatures reaching the 90's, team members played a combined total
of 35 matches at the Sacramento tournament. Next up the Irvine

Back to Back Tournaments The
teams tournament players are set for back to back weekends of tennis. The
groups first stop is in Sacramento for the largest wheelchair
tournament in Northern California. They then travel to Southern
California for another tournament in Irvine.

2nd Annual Up/Down Tournament at the Pacific Athletic Club in
Redwood City is on June 9th.

The annual silent auction of various sports memorabilia is going
on now though Thursday, 5/24/07, at the Courtside Club in Los Gatos.
